Artist's Description

An original pencil drawing titled Self, Friend & Lover was created as a very personal piece for me. When two people are committed to each other often they become “one” as they say... and I feel that part, the oneness or the “us” part. It's wonderful but isn't it just as important that there be a you and me as individuals? Acceptance of the other person's “self” is paramount to friendship and the freedom of being able to work on yourself and your dreams while in a relationship only fuels the connection between the two. In intimate relationships, one should always encourage the other to grow as an individual. It is the only way to grow as a couple. In this space is where passion grows… in this space is where the “lover” lives. Thank you very much for looking!

About Guy Hoffman

Guy Hoffman

My path has been different than the long-established academic approach in art. I’m a self-taught Artist, Photographer and Poet. I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. I’ve been largely influenced by Abstract, Figurative and Expressionism. It’s always been my mission to express my emotions and passions for life through the art that I create. This is the reason I feel my work is authentic to me and my style of creating. Using many techniques and learning to push the boundaries of both the mediums I use and my skills as they continue to develop, I create using my intuition. By doing so, I hope to express the inexpressible. To allow the viewer to feel whatever they feel based on their exposure, whether that be in life or...
